It's Time to Glow

Our History

The roots of Bollingberg Seeds trace back to a family deeply involved in the seed business. Bollingberg’s father worked in seed cleaning for many years, and after his marriage, Bollingberg followed in his footsteps, gaining early experience at a neighbor’s facility — Klindworth Seed.

In 1992, Bollingberg moved to his current location near Cathay, North Dakota, where he saw potential in a tall, well-built barn on the property. With its high roofline, the structure offered the perfect setup for a seed conditioning plant — tall enough to install the equipment without modifying the original building.

start of something new

By 1995, Bollingberg had launched his own seed plant, just as major changes were reshaping the industry. That year, new certification rules required that all commercial seed sales come from certified plants.  The change fueled growth across the state, and Bollingberg Seeds quickly became a trusted name among local growers.

Today, the plant primarily conditions pinto beans, many of which are shipped south to Mexico — where they often end up as refried beans. Through decades of change, Bollingberg has remained committed to quality, consistency, and service rooted in experience.
